A Message nfrom the official Governing Council Chair

This is CiSHAN’s website. It sets out our organizational direction and priorities for years to come. We have developed our strategic plan with the theme “the road map to ending AIDS in Nigeria”— reflecting on the reality that CiSHAN cannot function in isolation. We aim to develop active partnership with other civil society alike, government agencies and we look forward to active collaboration with us. However, we know that we have to establish our credibility on this front through adopting an objective standpoint in all we do. It helps that we understand that we have diverse and dynamic state coordinators across the 36 states and FCT and so, we recognize the need to consult widely among all state and zonal coordinators and have engaged in that process. The recommendations and result of these stakeholders consultation meeting have been incorporated into this website as we seek to make it more state friendly.
The journey to have a strong CiSHAN has been long, winding and meandering and we pay tribute to the persistence and commitment shown by those who worked to bring CiSHAN to its original standpoint. The challenge for CiSHAN now is to meet the expectations of all our constituents. It is a challenge we readily accept and to which we sincerely commit ourselves.
Through this website, we will bring our members across the country closer to donors and showcase what they have achieved from communities to the National platform. We also hope to use this medium to raise resources that we will use to strengthen our institutional capacity and finally, support our members to strengthen their own capacity.
